Vuono Group is looking for a Senior Data Engineer who is motivated by designing and building scalable data platforms and transforming how businesses utilise data. We help our clients solve critical problems at the core of their business operations.
About the role
As a Senior Data Engineer, youll focus on designing and building robust data pipelines, integrating data sources, and enabling real-time or batch analytics. You'll work hands-on with modern data tools and cloud platforms to ensure that raw operational data is transformed into trusted, production-grade data products.
You will collaborate closely with business engineers, data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to deliver scalable data solutions that support AI, automation, and business intelligence use cases. Your main goal is to deliver high-quality engineering work that leads to a measurable business impact.
Key Requirements:
- Strong understanding of modern data engineering principles, including data modelling, orchestration, and governance
- Strong experience in building and maintaining data pipelines (ETL/ELT) at scale
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and transformation
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow or DBT
- Solid understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, and real-time data processing
- Experience working with CI/CD, version control, and containerised environments (e.g., Docker)
- Ability to lead technical design discussions and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- MSc or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields
- Professional-level Finnish and English language proficiency
The following is considered a plus:
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Snowflake
- Knowledge of enterprise data platforms (SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow, etc.)
- Understanding of data quality, lineage, and metadata management practices
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform)
- Experience in consulting or working across multiple industries and domains
