We at Software Development team of Business Unit Solutions are responsible for developing new functional features for container handling applications and managing our software product portfolio. The solutions range from operator assisting features to fully autonomous equipment and making cranes safer, smarter and more efficient. Modern technology, newest sensors, positioning systems, lidars, camera technology, remote operation, etc. combined with innovative applications result in first class solutions for our customers.

 

We are on the lookout for a Senior Software Developer to join our enthusiastic team. This is a full-time permanent position based in Hyvinkää, Finland with opportunities for working partially from home office.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

As a Senior Software Developer, you will be a member of the software development team which creates new applications for automated container handling. Software development typically concentrates on novel functionality of container handling machines. You will participate in all stages of software development process together with other team members. As a senior software developer you will act as a role model for the less experienced developers. You are also expected to bring your senior level expertise and introduce the best practices you have already learned to the team. Requirement definition, architecture, design, software implementation and testing are vital elements of the work. In addition, operational prototypes and real machines are involved whenever appropriate.

What should you bring?

Your passion is to provide our customers with solutions which increase the safety and profitability of our customers' operations. You want to be part of developing leading technology and something totally new in the industry. You have experience and knowledge on software development in modern development environment and you have proven track record of writing high quality code for mission critical applications. Knowledge and skills on machine control, different sensor technologies and automation are beneficial.

 

• Master’s degree level on Computer Sciences or related fields

• Solid C++ programming skills

• Excellent understanding and skills in software development on Linux environment

• Experience on CI, Scrum, DevOps processes and development environments

• Git, Jira, Docker, Jenkins, Robot Framework, Unit testing etc.

• Experience in designing and implementing software systems with long life-cycle, combined with continuous upgrading with new features

• Open attitude to learn new and develop old

• Willingness to travel up to 30 days/year

• Fluent English skills
