The Opportunity: Senior AI Engineer

As a Senior AI Engineer in Futurice Xplorate, you will be at the forefront of developing and deploying cutting-edge AI solutions, particularly in the realm of generative AI. You'll be instrumental in shaping our new consulting offerings, working closely with clients to understand their needs and delivering exceptional outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-impact initiative and help redefine how consulting is done.

We offer a hybrid working mode that allows for flexibility, but it is important that the candidate is located close to one of our Finland offices (Helsinki or Tampere) to ensure seamless collaboration. Please kindly note that, at this time, we are unable to offer relocation opportunities, or we will need to be highly selective in considering such requests.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and implement innovative AI solutions, with a strong focus on generative AI technologies and their potential applications in consulting.
• Contribute to the creation and testing of our asset-based (AI) consulting offering, working closely with clients in proof-of-concept and pilot projects.
• Explore and experiment with the latest advancements in generative AI, such as large language models (LLMs), diffusion models, and other relevant technologies.
• Develop reusable assets and tools that can be leveraged across multiple client engagements to deliver value efficiently and at scale.
• Collaborate closely with other team members, including strategists, designers, and other technical experts, to deliver comprehensive and impactful solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in the AI field, particularly in generative AI, and proactively identify opportunities for innovation.
• Contribute to client proposals, discussions, and presentations, showcasing the potential of our AI-driven consulting offerings.
• Be a proactive and motivated individual who can take initiative and drive projects forward to deliver great outcomes for our clients.

Who We're Looking For:

• A strong foundation in data science, machine learning, and AI principles.
• Rock-solid foundational programming skills, for example in Python.
• You are keen on evaluating and optimizing Generative AI applications.
• A genuine passion for the possibilities of Generative AI and a desire to explore its potential in real-world applications
• Experience with frameworks and technologies used to build effective Generative AI applications.
• A growth mindset with a strong eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.
• Proven ability to "make things happen" and deliver tangible results for clients.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative approach to finding solutions
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Ideally, You Also Have:

• Experience with cloud technologies/services - (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Full-stack capabilities - jumping into different parts of the stack and supporting where needed.
• Experience with building and measuring retrieval systems, especially in the context of retrieval augmented generation(RAG).
• Familiarity with data engineering concepts and tools.
• Previous experience in a consulting environment or a strong interest in applying AI to solve business problems.
• Experience in any of these key areas/technologies is a plus: Docker, CI/CD, Haystack, Open WebUI, FastAPI, Java Script.

Compensation

Your complete compensation package will be discussed in detail during the recruitment process. Our salary model is designed to offer a range of levels based on three factors: skills, responsibilities and impact. We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment where every employee has the opportunity to thrive and advance in their career and become better versions of themselves. During the initial interview round, we will discuss the salary range for this position. We offer a fixed salary with the possibility of performance-based bonuses and additional benefits.
